You are welcome to stop by our temporary food bank location on 420 East Pike Street in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood on Monday through Thursday between 9 am and 4 pm, and our staff will be happy to assist you.

 

Mail

Please share your mailing address and our staff will be happy to send you an application. Once you’ve completed the application, please mail back to us.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are no longer scheduling appointments. However, you are welcome to stop by our temporary food bank location on 420 East Pike Street in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood on Monday through Thursday, between 9 am and 4 pm, and our staff will be happy to assist you.

You will need to submit the following documents:

  • Energy bills for Seattle City Light, Puget Sound Energy, Heat With Rent, or oil receipts. 
  • Last 3 months of income, for all adults over 18 years old, not including current month.
  • Copy of Social Security cards for ALL household members or government issued residency.
  • Copy of identification card of the person who signed the application. 
  • Copy of your lease or property tax statement.
  • Signed and dated Energy and Money Savings Tips. 

RENTAL ASSISTANCE

You can check the status of your application and grant by creating an account through our online portal. We can also send you email notifications when the status of your application changes and payment is sent.

A check will be sent directly to the landlord. Landlords should receive the rental assistance check 2 to 3 weeks after your application has been approved.

Grants are up to $1,500 to cover past due rent. You can check the status of your grant by creating an account through our online portal. We can also send you email notifications when the status of your application changes and payment is sent.

ENERGY ASSISTANCE

Energy assistance grants will be applied directly to your energy provider account, which is either Puget Sound Energy or Seattle City Light. 

If your energy bill includes heat, you will receive a check by mail that should be applied to your rent check for your energy bill.

Our Community Connector can help you find and access other community resources and services. For example, we can assist you with signing up for SNAP, getting an ORCA card or bus passes, learning about job readiness programs, and connecting to coordinated health care. To request Community Connector services, please submit a request or call us at 206-812-4940.

The temporary food bank is at 420 East Pike Street, Seattle, WA 98122 in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Metro bus routes: 7, 10, 41, 43, 60, and 545.

The food bank is open Tuesday 11 am – 4 pm, Wednesday 12 pm – 4 pm and Thursday 10 am – 2 pm.
